Week #3 Guess the Photo Winner

Week #3 winner is: Mirta Rosa, Congratulations!
Answer is: El Morro San Juan, Puerto Rico

I had the pleasure of photographing this about 3 years ago
during a church conference I attended.
I threw a curve ball this week, many answered
Castillo de San Marcos in St Augustine, FL.
A bit of facts
Castillo de San Marcos (St. Augustine) construction
began in 1672 , on the other hand,
Fort San Felipe del Morro (Puerto Rico) construction began in 1539.
Amazing this structure still stands, people back in
the day knew how to built things that lasted.
NEXT WEEK IS THE LAST CHANCE
FOR YOU TO WIN A
Gift Certificate for
$50 off a Portrait Session

Week #2 Winner

Week #2 winner is : Christy Cichielo
WOW two weeks in a row. Congratulations!!
Answer to the photo is: a lizard
This is what Christy wrote in:
Looks like a zoomed in shot of the body of a lizard with his little red thingy under his neck beginning to peek out.
Then seconds later she wrote to us with this,
"Whether I was correct or not this time, thought I'd share a tidbit of info... I just learned the "red thingy" on the neck of the male lizard is called a dewlap :)"

So there you have it folks, now you know what the red "thingy" is called.
This was the guess the photo

This is the original (cute model, huh?)

Vivian & Cristina

So yesterday we said good-bye to our final exchange student. What an incredible 6 weeks it has been. Two days after Sophie (our exchange student from France) left, our family welcomed Vivian & Cristina. Vivian is from Taiwan, and Cristina is from Spain. These two very talent young ladies fit into our family like they have always been part of us. Our family had a blessed time with them both. We enjoyed, beach days, bowling, miniature golfing, game nights, (by the way I never won a game of Uno- very unlike me). Honestly looking back I am amazed all that we did fit in, the 2 ½ weeks they were here. Placing all that we did aside, they were here to learn about our amazing country and culture.

But in turn, through this experience, God revealed and taught us things while they were here. For this we are forever thankful. The only thing that we do not like about this program is the good-byes. So with that being said, Vivian & Cristina see you after a while. Until we meet again, we will always cherish the memories our family was able to share with you both.
Love, David
~It amazes me how God reveals Himself in the quietest of ways~

These past few have been amazing and busy hosting exchange students from various countries. We had the pleasure of having a student from France, Taiwan, and Spain. Each unique and very special in her own way. Sophie was gentle, quiet and sweet.
She had a contagious laugh that would make you want to join in.
Especially if we talked about the "I love you" story from the bus ride to Clearwater.
Vivian was always full of questions, fun and laughs as well. She had such a sweet heart and always wanted to do something new like trying makeup or a dance for the disco. And she was never afraid to try a new food. Even if that meant spitting it out at the table :)
Cristina had a sweet, calm loving nature. She always wanted everyone to fill loved and included in every activity we did. She has the heart of a mother!

As I describe the girls, I miss them so but was left with the greatest gift. Not just the memories but also the quiet reminder that it doesn’t matter what you drive, where you live, what you wear or who you know. Just the people you able to love and the people who love you.

To all of our girls near and far,
(Marisa, Jasmine, Maria, Jocelyn, Sophie, Vivian & Cristina)
We love you and always pray that you be reminded of that each day!
Remember to, LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN & LOVE MUCH
Keep in touch and don't forget.............. Your greatest journey starts with a single step!!
Love Always, Jen

Vivian

Cristina

Summer = exchange student fun!

Well what a full and busy three weeks it has been!! Our exchange student, Sophie, left on Sunday back to France. We already miss her :( While she was here we had a great time with her. We enjoyed an all American baseball game complete with hot dogs, cotton candy, & Cracker Jacks. We went to the beach several times and enjoyed the celebration of the Fourth of July. Even though it was sad to see her leave, our family is very grateful that we were blessed to get to know Sophie, for now we have a life long friend in Paris, France. Sophie one day we will come to see you!!

Now in about 24 hours we will welcome two new friends into our family. Christina (from Spain) & Vivian (from Taiwan). Jennifer always said she wanted to have 12 kids. God on the other hand had other plans for us, and blessed us with two wonderful, beautiful girls. But I am starting to see that a praying mother is always on God’s good side. We now have 7 girls added to our extended family. Stay tune for more updates.

By chance or not – NOT!!!!

By chance or not – NOT!!!!
Definition: chance
Without plan; accidentally
Many people believe that things happen by chance, accidentally. For instance, when two people meet. They find an attraction to one another, start dating; they fall in love, and end up marrying. Well let me clear this up- there is a God that is in control of everything. Yes, whether you want to admit it or not, He is even in control of our lives. Now, let me clearify this a bit more. He has given us free will, hence that is why we so often find ourselves in a, well… mess
(for a lack of a better term).

Well this is a strange way to start a blog to tell my beautiful wife,
Happy Anniversary. But this is how my thoughts come out sometimes.
It has been 15 WONDERFUL years. Now don’t get me wrong, we have had some great mountaintops, and some very low valleys. But our confidence and love for one another comes from trusting the one that is always in control-GOD. This why I can say it has been 15 wonderful years. He has always placed us in the palm of His hands.

We did not meet by chance. God had a plan for our lives. This is the total opposite of the definition that you see above. We both come from divorced families. Step parents, living with relatives, the uncertainty of tomorrow, and all the junk that comes from the mess of divorce. But looking back now, I remember sitting in my bedroom at the age of 8 yrs old and asking the big question – Is there really a God out there? If you are out there God, please place a girl in my life, when I am old enough, that loves me the same as I love her. I strongly believe that is when He placed Jennifer and I on a collision course to meet 10 yrs later. You see, even at the age of 8, I had free will. I could have told God: forget you, forget love, or I could have not acknowledge the fact that I needed Him.

His love and mercy for us is so great, that on this side of heaven, I do not believe we can fully understand it. I strayed away, and stumbled & fell. But that prayer was still on His heart. Jennifer and I met 2 months before we graduated high school. Together we decided to fully trust God with our lives, and we were married April 2, 1994. God blessed us with two beautiful girls. (side note: they are as beautiful as their momma- inside & out)
And here we are 15 years later celebrating our 15th year together.
(technically 18yrs, we dated for 3 yrs)
I love Jennifer more today than did the first time I met her. Not because I loved her less 15 years ago, but because God has given and entrusted me with this gift of a beautiful life. Even when I mess up, His mercy covers all.
For this I am thankful.

Happy Anniversary Honey

I am excited for the blessings God has in store for us in the next 50 years.
And then some!!!!!!

Love you forever and a day

Jazzy's Big "10"

Well our baby girl is growing up quick , too quick. She is turning the big "10" tomorrow or as she has been saying , "double digits". The video was from 5 years ago, and the photo is a recent pic.

Jazzy,

Mom & Dad are soooo very proud of you. We pray everyday that the hand of God continues to guide your every step. From the little girl that could hardly say the word molecule, to the girl that Rissy calls a pre-teen, time is really flown by.

Peru

Dear family & friends,

I am writing this letter to update you on some exciting news. For the last year or so I have had a desire stirring in me to go back on a missions trip. Now that desire has turned into reality. This April I have been asked to join a team of four other people to go to Peru. To be exact, it’s a very small village called San Damian. The village sits about 11,500 ft. above sea level, in the middle of the Andes Mountains. The particular village that we are going to minister to, is not very large, about 175 to 200 people. Among this group of people there are only 2 believers who know Jesus Christ. This is very exciting time of ministry. I count a very big privilege to take the gospel to such a remote corner of the world.

There are several things that I ask you partner with me in prayer about. First, that God would, even now, start to prepare the hearts of the people of San Damian. Secondly, for traveling safety of our team. In this part of Peru there are a lot of diseases that could pose a threat to all of us on the team. Thirdly, that we would be able to present the Gospel in a clear way. This is a huge part, was we will presenting the Gospel in a story telling way. About 95% of the villagers are functional illiterates, reading and writing is very limited..

One of the things that I believe we take for granted more than anything else in our lives, is the invitation that God has given us, through Jesus Christ, to have a personal relationship with Him. It’s sad to say that we, even as believers, we often forfeit time with God for the many details in our day. The same details that we so desperately need Him to work in.. But reflecting in this, it breaks my heart to think of the many that have not yet heard of the loving, living relationship that we can have with our Lord. Of the saving grace that is so freely given to us through the blood He shed on the cross for our sins.

If you would like to know how you could help our team in other ways, to bring the Gospel to this remote part of the world , please feel free to contact me. May God bless you for your support to bring the gospel to an area that so desperately needs it.

Doing as HE leads,
David Rodriguez

Gallery Wraps

We have been carrying these gallery wraps for a couple of years. They have become very popular with our customers. Here are a couple of samples of what they look like.

What is a gallery wrapped canvas?
It is a high quality print on artist canvas.
The canvas is stretched over custom made wood supports.
It is available in any size.
Its depth is 1.25"

What's so cool about gallery-wrapped canvases?
These images stand out boldly without the distraction of a frame
They appear to "float" on your wall.
You don't need a frame for stability; the structure is inside the art.

Dance like no one is watching

This year passing has been filled with many special times and many very difficult times. Probably some of the most difficult we’ve had to face. With the losses of close loved ones, we are reminded of the importance of living everyday to it’s fullest or like the saying my husband has adopted,
dance like no one is watching“.
As we strive this year to “dance like no one is watching”
We also keep in mind the great promises of our Father, that He is our peace in the midst of any storm, and that His promise is to love us always and NEVER forsake us! Our lives are to be a Psalm, we have much to give thanks and praise for. The Bible says, Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
Psalm 89:15. No matter our circumstances, our losses, our grief, or our troubles,
we must CHOOSE to praise him for He is worthy of it.
Our prayer for you in this New Year is that you will see His grace in the midst of any storm that may come your way. And know that He has not, nor will He ever leave your side. As we look forward to MANY great things to come this New Year, we will never forget the valleys and deserts He has brought us through and the promises he has fulfilled.
